Sunset Region had 25 placers
North Region had 19 placers
Sunrise Region had 12 placers
The Sunset Region had a first or second at every weight except for 145. Great job for a tough Region to finish strong.
It took a while to recoup after the drive yesterday, two days of sitting on the bleachers that were so not forgiving. The length of the finals was almost too much to take, but it was for the kids & they deserved their time in the spotlight. So many kudos to all the wrestlers this weekend.
Was it just me or when the power went off during the finals the thought of extended the finals even longer & having some matches wrestle with just the emergency lights on was kind of disturbing & had to be a distraction to the wrestlers that were already
wrestling ? The issue Friday night with the lights during the semi finals was frustrating at the least.
The talk of the tourney next year possibly being at The Orleans ? Sounds nice, but lets see the new NIAA Director get something positive arranged & not have it end up at Cimarron again. The time is now to start looking for sponsorships, corporate, school districts can chip in, support from the private sector, lets get going NIAA & make this an even better event next year. Don't put this aside & deal with it later, "get r done "
