Good to hear from somebody else regarding Fargo. Cadets in Freestyle from Team Nevada are done today as the Cadets had a better showing in Freestyle but were still not able to get any All-Americans this year. Good job Cadets & lets root for the Juniors who start tomorrow. If anyone is interested.

Trey and Stephen both won first round matches in Freestyle. No cadets placed in freestyle. Updates that I am not getting are: 1. What are the coaches doing AFTER the days events??? Mr. Brett ?

This message is from Brett Edmunds, No excuses but let me give you (Alumni) a little taste of the life of a Fargo nationals coach and MAYBE you will understand why you don't get a call after every match or even at the end of the DAY. Remember the team leaders day is even longer,Our first priority is the KIDS and making sure that they are all taken care of physically and more importantly MENTALLY, the night before competition starts we are in the mode of making sure that the kids are all the proper weight, we wake up about 5:45 am and check there weight again, around 6:30 am we take the kids to the weigh in from 7:00 to 7:20 am we take them to go eat, we take them to the Fargo dome and prepare them for the days competition that starts at 9:00 am, we all disperse and coach our asses off to help the kids be successful then we go find another one to do the same all over again. The morning session ends at 2:00 pm,we then take the kids to get another meal and get rest for the next session that starts at 6:00pm, unless we have cadets and juniors going at the same time then they overlap and we have practice for those that are not in competition at that time. The last session ends at 9:00 pm and we still need to make sure that kids are in the dorms and doing the right thing for themselves to be successful for the next day or next competition they are in. I will leave the rest up to your imagination of what the coaches are doing after the DAYS competition around 10:30 pm. It may sound like I am complaining but I assure that I am NOT, I enjoy EVERY single moment that I am in Fargo with TEAM NEVADA. I am willing to raise the money or pay for it myself to bring a person that is solely responsible for giving round by round results for all the folks back home, I will be writing an overview of how our Fargo experience was this year on this or TEAM NEVADA forum. I will take this opportunity to say Thank you to all the kids and coaches that went this year, it was a pleasure being part of it and I can't wait till next year, we in Nevada gained alot of respect for our wrestlers this year and it will only get better.( look forward to having you with us next year ALUMNI). ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Team Nevada was in a transitional stage this year with new ideas and new aspirations for everyone, We started in early May with Northern Nevada regional workouts at the Reno elite traing center that later was forced to close it's doors because of the lack of involvement from our wrestling community.(which we will all regret in years to come). Thank you to Rod Walker for all your efforts to bring Nevada wrestling to the forefront. On a much more positive note we had as many as 52 kids at one workout at the center getting ready for regionals. It was a special place with NO bias or prejudice, we had a different coach every week to give a little something that maybe only 1 kid got, but that was enough because that 1 kid got it. We continued these workouts up until it was time for the kids to leave for regionals, but not before we took all the kids to the water park for a cold day of fun. We kept the workouts going for high school age kids on Wednesday nights and to our surprise we had a great turnout of kids, some of them training for our junior dual team, but the majority training just to be training. That is how it should be for all kids to come wrestle with the best in the state to make themselves better without the fear of being recruited or doing the wrong things during the off season.(that is what TEAM NEVADA is all about). Our junior dual team was up next and this team made NEVADA proud by placing second in greco and third in freestyle as a TEAM. Team Nevada is invited back next year and probably every year after for there competitiveness and there respectfullness. All the kids and parents involved with TEAM NEVADA should hold there heads up high because they represented NEVADA beyond any expectations. My personal THANKS go out to my partner in crime ART OROZCO and the whole Nevada state board that allowed Art and I to hopefully take TEAM NEVADA to whole different level that will make it possible for our kids to get the exposure that they DESERVE. My Fargo report to follow after some rest. Congrats to ALL Nevada wrestlers that competed on any level during this off season, because we all know that he who trains when he does not NEED to, will ultimately be very succesful. I am sorry for all spelling errors my spell check will not work.
