I am sure others have the same problem as I do. Every year, I clear out the previous year's medals and start adding medals for that year as my son earns them by placing at tournaments. Now, I find myself with a bag full of quality medals, all with attached neck ribbons. I don't know what is the right thing to do with them. It's not worth it to keep them--there are too many and my son will continue to win more (he'll be entering the eighth grade next school year). It seems a shame to just toss them in the trash. I have thought about giving them to charitable organizations like Disabled American Veterans and United Cerebral Palsy, which pick up used items from homes, but then I think, "What would they do with a bunch of wrestling medals?" Would people really be interested in purchasing wrestling medals at a second-hand store like Goodwill Industries, if I were to donate to them?
Would a wrestling organization or association consider accepting them, or are they just trash?
As I mentioned, I am certain others no doubt must be wondering the same thing, though I fail to understand why I have NEVER read of a post on this subject in forums from CA, OR, WA, and this one in NV. I have read posts on what to do with used shoes, but not on medals.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

buy a trophy case for your son and put them in there. Then he'll have something to remember his youth wrestling.

Donate them to your local youth wrestling group. They can "recycle" them at tournaments.
