See Reggie reminds me of another 89 pounder from a year ago. In November December of 05 nobody gave him any respect either. Little did they know how hard that kid had been working getting ready for his senior year. In the weight room, on the track, going to camps. A lot of pain and suffering led to a state title. Reggie has been putting in that kind of work since his third place finish a year ago. He saw the success that hard work brought to a big strong kid from Northern Nevada last year and is hungry to have that for himself this year.
Keep working Ninjamaster...your record now isn't a true indication of the success you will have.

Shane will do well. Unfortunately he didn't red shirt this year and is playing catch up. He is learning a whole new style and has lost his heavy work out partners at Lassen. Alumni do you know anyone who could fill in up there next year? I have someone in mind. Powers should be champ this year at 89's. 215 could be tough though.

The suggestion has been passed onto the most influential helpers.

If the number of people on the roster determines the champion, then Mojave is going to finish way behind Palo Verde, CM, LV, and probably a few more. As we saw last year, it's not how well you wrestle during the season that matters, it's whether you 'bring it' at the state tournament that counts.

I think that numbers help. When you have more competition on your team, your team gets better. However, Mojave probably has two varsity teams in their room and I don't think that the Evil Empire, Vegas or Palo has that. Quality counts. I also think that your schedule plays a big role in how well you do. If you have a tough schedule your team gets tougher. The Evil Empire and Blessed Mojave might meet up this weekend at Sierra Vista duals, though both teams might have different line-ups by state.

CM needs to get Morales to 215 and either Mitchell or Atwood down to 160, and then their line-up will be set.
Mojave definitely has to drop Degroat and the smaller Evans. I'm not sure about the rest. My guess would be that they also drop Powers (pending his results the next two weeks against Morales), Colby Evans and possibly Taylor.
Safe bet that CM and Mojave will dual twice in the next 8 days - so we will see where they stand. It would not suprise me to see both duals go down to the last matches. I think CM is much stronger 1-14 this year and can beat them in duals. A tournament format will be tougher as Mojaves doesn't have many weight classes that they won't win at least 2-3 matches.

I would like to be talking about a few more teams than just the Evil Empire and Mojave. What I hope happens is that some of these teams can bring a few kids the can wreck at least C-M's chance of qualifying a large number of kids to the state tournament.

I agree, I watched GV dual vs. CM and they looked good with Saldana, Hernandez, Speroni and Padilla but their heavys didn't impress me at all. Vegas has 4 bigs guys that should qualify for state. Both schools could end up with their big 4 winning regionals, the difference will be whether Vegas can place 4 lightweights or GV can develop 4 heavys to counter.
