Not much of a dual, Mojave won 56-16. Cimarron won three matches, Randel Aleman did not wrestle as he had knee surgery to repair a football injury. No heavy weight for Cimarron weighed in. Whats up Cimarron ? Has Cimarron lost this bad at home before ?

A couple of thoughts on the dual meet:
It was my first time seeing Mojave this year, and WOW are those young kids maturing quickly. They are very physical and athletic. Cimarron shouldn't worry too much, they will peak as they always do in February, and be ready to defend their title. Mojave is definitely a better dual team than tournament team.
As far as the matches went, I thought Mojaves 103 pounder was very tough. He is extremely unorthodox and handled a returning state qualifier with ease (2nd period pin). Mojaves 119 kid is also very good for a freshman. Mojaves 125 (Romero) is just a freshman and knocked off Nick Harris in OT. Great match. Suarez was Suarez and mowed through sacraficial lamb Mojave put out there. At 135, I thought Cimarrons Freshman looked VERY good. He actually out wrestled defending State Champion Deandre Taylor, but just couldn't stand up to him physically. Taylor seemed to win most scrambles and get the near fall points. St. Clair looked very solid at 160. I think he will drop to 152, and be the odds on favorite to win there. Powers was at 189 for Mojave, and he is a BEAST. One of the best athletes I have ever seen wrestle. He is very wild on the mat, makes a lot of mistakes, but is so strong and fast, he recovers from them. He is exciting to watch. Morales looked solid at 215, but small. I think he will drop to 189.
Mojave has beaten the top two teams in last years state meet in a span of 4 days. They beat Las Vegas 67-3 on Saturday, and Cimarron 56-16 last night. It's a long year, but they are definitely a legitimate contender. Should be interesting.

Suarez was at 130 - and based on their line-up, that's probably where he will stay. Harris cannot go 119, and is not big enough for 130, so Suarez should remain there. It wouldn't surprise me to see him go down to 125 for Reno TOC and Five Counties though.
The dual meet was an interesting one. It is rare to see the Spartans get manhandled as they did. Mojave has a very balanced team, but no real superstars.
